David Hodge joined forces with Aaron Underhill in December 2015 to create Underhill & Hodge, LLC. David was previously with Smith & Hale where he started as a clerk in 1999 and left as a partner in 2015. David’s real estate law practice is primarily in zoning, land use, and annexation. His work includes the general representation of real estate developers, investors, and individuals through the entitlement phases of prospective industrial, commercial, mixed-use, and residential developments including office buildings, industrial and warehousing facilities, shopping centers, hotels, residential subdivisions, and apartment complexes. David further represents clients in a broad range of real estate transactions involving property transfers, development, land use regulation, annexation, and litigation.
David’s practice frequently takes him before the administrative, quasi-judicial, and legislative bodies of Central Ohio’s municipalities and townships. He regularly appears before Columbus area neighborhood groups, Area Commissions, and Civic Associations to introduce new development proposals that will impact their neighborhoods and constituents. David has a proven track record of being a consensus builder, working with local communities and developers to foster unity, so community development occurs in a manner protective of stakeholder’s private property rights.
He resides in Bexley, Ohio with his wife Lindsay, and their children Ben, Bess, and Molly.
